Product overview

SlintForge components, Rust and C++ integration, and release status

SlintForge is a Fluent-style desktop component library built on Slint 1.18 for industrial control, test and measurement, and other native desktop tools. Public components are implemented once in .slint and consumed through separate Rust and C++ SDKs.

Component families

The current reference lists 79 public components across basic controls, navigation, layout, forms, data display, feedback, themes and windows. Two engineering-oriented areas stand out:

  • ForgePlot for lines, scatter, bars, color maps, polar and multiple axes, with live data, cursors, zoom and export.
  • ForgeFlow for editable nodes and edges in flows, topologies and similar workspaces, with a minimap and controls.

DataGrid and TreeDataGrid support structured data. Split, flow, adaptive grid and dock layouts help compose larger tools. Window, icon, QR, highlighting and capture components cover common desktop needs. See the Component API for names and minimal examples.

Integration paths

Import UI components through @slintforge. Rust projects configure style and resource paths in the build script and rendering before creating a window. C++ projects use the provided CMake package and slintforge_target_sources(). Charts, flow editing, grids and capture also require host services to be bound before display. Follow Quick start for the first integration.

Intended use

SlintForge is aimed at teams that need native desktop interfaces with plots, tables, equipment state or editable workflows. Start with the Gallery and individual component examples, then integrate only the modules an application needs.

Release and licensing

The current documentation targets v0.1.2, Slint 1.18.0, Windows x64 and the fluent style. SlintForge is planned for a GPL-3.0-only open-source release, but its public repository is not open yet, so this page has no source or release download link. Review the actual SlintForge and Slint license terms before use.
